New Program: UW Wildlife Conservation in South Africa

In this two week study abroad program, students will participate in daily wildlife monitoring drives and bush walks to collect and analyze data that inform management decisions for the reserve. Through lectures and field activities, students will learn about ecology and behavior of African wildlife and conservation methods.

New Program: UW Retail Trends in Japan

The UW Retail Trends in Japan program is a signature program organized and led by Professor Murray in Consumer Sciences and supported through CIEE. On this program students will discover fashion trends, which provides hands on experience with tracking and forecasting of product and consumer trends based on product lifecycle trends, fashion theories, socioeconomic and cultural factors, lifestyles, psychographic and demographic trends in the marketplace.

New Program: UW Environmental Ethics & Indigenous Rights in Ecuador

In this program, students will engage with various communities in the highlands of Ecuador, learning about their relationship to the natural world and their strategies for maintaining communal resilience and well-being in the face of significant challenges. This three week program takes students to multiple communities where they will build foundational knowledge about indigenous, colonial, and modern history and politics of Ecuador.

On this immersive three week program in Japan, students will dive into an introduction to biological sciences research using cutting-edge methodologies in biochemistry. Students will engage in a comprehensive combination of lectures, discussions, fieldwork, and laboratory work focused on a central research question on gene regulation.
