Lily is a graduate student in the Global Higher Education (GHE) program through the School of Education. Lily also completed her undergraduate degree at UW Madison and had the opportunity to study abroad in Rome during the 2023 spring semester. Academically, the experience was a unique way to learn about different educational systems around the world, which enhanced her perspective and was incredibly applicable to her educational practices in the United States. Rome specifically was a wonderful place to study abroad because of its intersection with art, food, and history, all while also being a large, globally connected European city. Lily believes that studying abroad is a unique way to expand one’s mind, access new networks, and gain additional independence, and she cannot recommend it enough!
