Eliana is a junior double majoring in International Studies and Environmental Studies who studied abroad during Spring Semester 2024 in Sweden on the DIS Stockholm program. She was very excited to experience a new language and culture and to live with a host family to further that immersion. She especially enjoyed getting to understand the Swedish political and education systems much more and forming a real understanding of the building blocks of Swedish society. While abroad, Eliana took courses in subjects such as Swedish politics, European security, public health, and Swedish history. Some of her fondest memories abroad include attending a Netflix premiere, traveling around the archipelago, and exploring the many museums of Stockholm! Throughout her semester Eliana did her best to become a part of Swedish culture, and by the time she left she really felt as though she was experiencing Stockholm as a local. She is incredibly grateful that she had the opportunity to spend this time abroad and is looking forward to helping others follow that path as well!
