My name is Dasha, and I am a senior double-majoring in Global Health and Life Sciences Communication. In the summer of 2024, I interned abroad in New Delhi, India, where I had the opportunity to deepen my understanding of public health from a global perspective by engaging with and learning from experts across various non-profits, hospitals, and public sector agencies. One of the most memorable experiences was joining a team of nurses and therapists on home visits to cancer patients and their families, where I witnessed firsthand the profound impact of providing compassionate, cost-free care. Alongside these professional experiences, I greatly enjoyed immersing myself in India’s vibrant, beautiful, and deeply rooted culture.

I also enjoyed a semester studying in Copenhagen, Denmark, where I took some of the most engaging courses of my college career. I particularly enjoyed the immersive opportunities the program offered through field visits and class trips that brought our education to life. One of the most memorable experiences was visiting a natural birthing room in a Danish hospital and learning directly from midwives as part of my Pregnancy, Birth, and Infancy in Denmark course.
