As an Enrollment Specialist Advisor, I manage the application, acceptance, and grade transfer process for programs in 6 continents, with a large focus in France, Germany, South Korea and Australia. Germany is near and dear to my heart as my father is a German immigrant and I am a dual German-US citizen. I studied Fine Arts (oil painting) at Viterbo University for my undergraduate degree, and it was during this time that my Art History professor inspired me to study abroad in Italy. After saving money for a year, I studied through the program ISA and lived with a host family for a semester – one of the best decisions of my life! After this experience I realized I wanted to work in international higher education, so I attended UW-Madison for my master’s degree in Global Higher Education. During my master’s degree I convinced my husband to spend one summer with me at my relatives’ home in Mannheim, Germany, so I could study intensive German and share my European travel experiences with him. Previous to working at UW-Madison, I was an International Coordinator and Advisor for international students at UW-Platteville Richland. Meeting students from around the world has brought me immense joy and I am happy to now help others achieve their dream of studying abroad and overcome apprehensions and obstacles to making their dreams come true. Outside of work I love to read, travel, play board games, go to the movies, and do crafty projects around the house.
