Ella studied abroad in Stockholm, Sweden, with DIS during the Spring 2026 semester. As a microbiology major also pursuing a certificate in global health, she appreciated the opportunity to take courses focused on public health, migration, and human rights while gaining an international perspective on topics related to her studies from experts in the field. Some of Ella’s favorite parts of her program were the hands-on field studies around Stockholm and her weeklong study tour to London, which focused on healthcare access in migrant communities. Outside of class, Ella loved experiencing life in Stockholm, especially fika, exploring and shopping in Gamla Stan, trying new foods, visiting the ABBA Museum, and taking in the beautiful views along the water throughout the city. She hopes to help other students find a study abroad experience as meaningful and memorable as hers.
