University of Wisconsin–Madison

Affiliate on-campus promotions

We are excited to work with you to promote UW–Madison-approved programs! Approved programs are listed on the International Academic Programs website.

All promotions to UW–Madison students, faculty, and staff must be approved by International Academic Programs (IAP).

Campus events

Please send all event requests to your UW–Madison study abroad contact. Proposed events must be reviewed and approved by IAP. This includes hosting info sessions, classroom presentations, resource tables, drop-in advising, or other participation in campus events. A minimum of 3 weeks’ advance notice is required to allow for coordination and promotion (this includes on-campus events coordinated by returned student ambassadors).

Study Abroad Fair: UW–Madison’s Study Abroad Fair is only for the promotion of approved programs.

Flyers

UW–Madison has strict guidelines regarding the posting and distribution of materials to students. If you are developing materials to post on campus or distribute to UW–Madison students (either digitally or printed), please notify your UW–Madison study abroad contact so we can assist with complying to campus policies and co-branding. All materials must be approved by IAP prior to distribution.

Communication to departments

Our study abroad offices have a system in place for communicating opportunities to our UW–Madison campus departments and advisors. Please send any information tailored for specific majors/departments to your UW–Madison study abroad contact (rather than departments directly).

Digital accessibility compliance

All materials that are intended for digital distribution by UW–Madison faculty or staff must comply with federal digital accessibility regulations. Here are UW–Madison resources (based on federal requirements) – including PDFs, videos, emails, and more!

Student ambassadors

Organizations that wish to engage returned students to promote their programs at UW–Madison must work directly with International Academic Programs. IAP can amplify returned student outreach efforts and provide required sponsorship support. Organizations working with returned students must:

  • Share the names of any returned students who are conducting on-campus promotions with IAP.
  • Send a monthly report of returned student promotional activities with IAP. The monthly report should include both completed and intended activities.

Returned students who are promoting on campus should:

  • Only promote programs that have been approved by UW–Madison.
  • Direct students to UW–Madison study abroad offices for program advising, information about scholarships, and application deadlines (as these may be different than the ones on your website).
  • Request approval from IAP for all proposed events, including info sessions, classroom presentations, and resource tables. A minimum of 3 weeks’ advance notice is required.
