International Academic Programs (IAP) collaborates with academic units across campus to offer safe, accessible, and high-quality study abroad and domestic study away programs that foster students’ academic, personal, and professional growth. Additionally, IAP works in close partnership with study abroad offices within the College of Agricultural and Life Science and the Wisconsin School of Business to administer programs geared specifically for their academic disciplines. All approved UW-Madison programs share policies, procedures, and best practices, and are featured on the study abroad Program Search, identified with the following icons:

College of EngineeringStudy Abroad programs sponsored by the College of Engineering (CoE) and managed by IAP, designed specifically for and only open to students in the College of Engineering (CoE) and Biological Systems Engineering Majors. All COE participants on these programs earn pass/fail credit unless they take courses abroad that fulfill degree requirements for a second major or a certificate outside of the CoE, in which case A-F grades are issued for those courses. |
International Internship Program (IIP)IIP develops and identifies internship opportunities all over the world for UW-Madison students. IAP collaborates with IIP to support students participating on credit-bearing internships worldwide. You can receive academic credit for your internship abroad through the Worldwide Internship Program. |
