Biography

As a Study Abroad Advisor, I advise students and manage study abroad programs in regions around the world.

I was born in the UK, and when I was 5 years old, my family moved to Madison for my dad’s new job. I was young, but I vividly remember the adjustment to a new place, making friends, and fitting in. After growing up in Madison, I attended college in Pittsburgh, PA where I studied graphic design. I had the opportunity to study design abroad for a semester in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and after graduation, I was itchy to travel some more.

I spent 6 months volunteering in Zambia, followed by almost 3 years in South Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer. These international experiences drew me to the field of study abroad. I completed a Master’s in Education with a concentration in International Education and began working at International Academic Programs in 2008.

In my free time, I love spending time outside: camping, hiking, kayaking, biking, and exploring with my three children.
