Biography
As the Associate Director for Program Management, my responsibilities include overall management of the study abroad program portfolio, health and safety protocols, compliance, and program evaluations.
I am originally from a small town in Iowa, and two of my best friends in high school were international students who later inspired me to pursue study abroad in college. I was the first in my family to attend college, and majored in international business and studied Spanish. I spent the fall semester of my junior year studying abroad in the Dominican Republic. My semester abroad introduced me to opportunities to go abroad again, and after graduating, I joined the Peace Corps. I lived and worked in Honduras for four years, first as a Peace Corps Volunteer and then as a Peace Corps trainer. When I returned to the States, I wanted to continue pursuing an international career and attended graduate school, earning a master’s degree in international education.
I have worked in study abroad at several universities across the US, and this is my second time working at UW-Madison in study abroad.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking/walking, trying new foods, playing and watching sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
