Biography

As the Director for International Internships, I primarily manage and guide the intern abroad advisors in developing high-quality professional opportunities specifically for undergraduate Badgers all over the world.

I was the first in my family to study abroad when I spent my senior year of high school in Madrid, Spain, and discovered how much I enjoyed learning Spanish. When I was an undergraduate at UW-Madison majoring in SpanishLACIS and Journalism, I studied abroad again on a semester-long program in Quito, Ecuador. I was fortunate to be awarded a summer internship scholarship through L&S Career Services (now SuccessWorks) to pursue an international internship in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at a trilingual online magazine.

After graduation, I earned a Master’s in Journalism from La Universidad Tocuato di Tella in Buenos Aires, allowing me to work at one of the country’s leading newspapers, La Nación, in addition to serving as an advisor and public relations associate for a company that brought students from the U.S. to do media internships in Argentina.  I lived again in Spain for three years, where I taught English and wrote freelance articles before returning to Madison.

I was fortunate to join UW-Madison’s International Internship Program as a graduate intern in 2014 while earning a Master’s degree in Spanish literature, and I started full-time as the advisor for Latin America and Spain the following summer. I was proud to have been recognized with the International Division’s 2018 Early Career Award. I am very lucky to have a job that allows me to travel for work and help students get abroad as well!
