Internship Scholarships

Many merit- and need-based scholarships are available to students completing an international internship.

Intern Abroad Advisors can help you focus your scholarship search and provide supporting documentation, such as offer letters or confirmation that you’re in the process of securing an international internship.

In general, students who are interning abroad on one of our programs (UW Signature Internships, Internship-Focused Programs, or External Internships*) are eligible to apply to scholarships designated for study abroad programs.

Scholarships that are not offered by UW-Madison may have different requirements. You may want to verify that a for-credit internship program is eligible before completing a scholarship application.

All the scholarships listed on this webpage can be applied towards a for-credit internship program.

Scholarship and grant deadlines may be different (and often earlier) than your program application deadline. You will generally be applying for scholarships before you have a confirmed internship offer. It is normal to still be considering program options while you apply for funding.

*External Internships must be approved by International Academic Programs.
